SUBMITTING YOUR WORK:

Guidelines:

– Posts must be at least 800 words.
– Posts must use sources for educative research and/or statistics.
– Posts MUST be of your own work, not copyrighted, and nowhere else on the internet.
– If you’d like us to post one of your own blog posts, please submit it and disclaim that on the submission form somewhere.
– Posts must be about any of these mental illnesses, experiences regarding these, or educative and informative posts about these: Personality disorders, schizophrenia, psychosis, phobia’s of any kind, syndrome’s of any kind, Autistic spectrum posts, various sleep disorders, dissociation/depersonalization, body dysphoria.
– If your post does not fit into the illnesses listed above and it’s an illness that is spoken about a lot in the media, you can still submit. We are looking for posts that shine a different light on mental illness, so any weird or less spoken about symptoms or experiences you’ve had – we’d love to hear it!
– Your post must be brutally honest. We don’t tiptoe around the truth.

MENTAL HEALTH WEEK POSTS:

Each day of the week of Mental Health Week (14th-20th May) we have a theme. Themes are listed below. We are accepting posts relating to that theme for each day, and we will choose 2 special posts from each theme to be posted on the corresponding day. We aren’t posting any other content during that week, apart from themed posts.

Themed posts are based off of popular Twitter hashtags to gain traction to our website and your posts. This means you can promote your post on our website easier and gain more traffic.

Themes:
MONDAY – Motivation Monday.
Motivational real life stories, weight loss/gain stories (Eating disorders), Recovery, self love, self care.
TUESDAY – Tuesday Thoughts.
Writing about what you thought mental illness was when you were younger, vs what you think now. “When I was 10 I thought self harm was stupid, now I think…”
WEDNESDAY – Wednesday Wisdom.
Educational posts. Facts about a mental illness, statistics, educate people on recovery techniques, therapies, DIY self care, what to do in a crisis, etc.
THURSDAY – Throwback Thursday.
A throwback to your life with mental illness, year by year walkthrough, with pictures and images. If you havent suffered with illness, write about an experience you’ve had in the past with mental illness in any way – friends, family members, etc.
FRIDAY – Friday Feelings.
How does mental illness make you feel? If you suffer with it, how does it affect you? What experiences have you had? If you don’t suffer with it, how does being on the outside feel? How do you feel when you see someone suffering?
SATURDAY – Saturday Symptoms.
Choose ONE mental illness, write about it. Include every symptom, statistic, fact, figure, image, story, anything that you can find about it.
SUNDAY – Sunday Funday.
Write about the good parts of mental illness. Your accomplishments, your goals, your views of the future. Write about what you’ve learned, what you still have to learn, think about what has helped you and why.
